16, 2007—The Whiteweld Foundation is proud
to announce their next benefit concert for needy children's
charities Friday 1, 2008 at Carnegie Hall. Presented by The
Whiteweld Foundation, and hosted by 101.1 WCBS- FM Radio's own
Broadyway Bill Lee. The concert will feature "Motown's TNT" The Four
Tops and The Temptations. Combined The Tops & Temps sold over 50
million records to date. Inductees to The Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame
they will be singing their legendary hit recordings "My Girl, "
"Bernadette," "Get Ready," and many, many, more for the very 1st
time together at Carnegie Hall.

back with "the greatest hit recordings of the 60s, 70s, and 80s and
we're proud to announce that WCBS" FM Radio is the host radio
sponsor for this most memorable evening of entertainment.
The
Four Tops have been marveling audiences with their infectious blend
of pure vocal harmonies for decades. After being introduced to Berry
Gordy who signed them to his new record label, Motown Records is
when The Four Tops record success began. Hit after hit followed,
with "Baby I Need Your Lovin," "I Can't Help Myself, " "Standing In
The Shadows Of Love," "Bernadette." "Reach Out I'll be There, "
followed by, "Ain't No Woman Like The One I Got, " and many more.
Inductee to the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, and with no signs
of slowing down, The Four Tops play almost 200 dates a year and have
raised money all over the globe with their charity
work.
Today, The Four Tops are comprised of Duke Fakir, Rokie
Payton, Theo Peoples, and Ronnie Menier. The Top's performances are
still magical. They wow! The audience wherever they perform,
spreading their Four Tops magic with their million-seller hit
recordings.
The Temptations. The history of The Temptations
is the history of contemporary American pop. An essential component
of the original Motown machine, that amazing engine invented by
Berry Gordy, The Temps began their musical life in Detroit in the
early sixties. It wasn't until 1964 that the Smokey Robinson
written-and-produced " The Way You Do the things You Do" turned the
guys into stars. (
An Avalanche of hits followed, the
immortal "My Girl," "Since I Lost My Baby," "Get Ready, " "Ain't To
Proud To Beg," "Beauty Is Only Skin Deep," "I Wish It Would Rain'...
hits kept coming.
In the 70s
Producer Norman Whitfield led the way for the produced hits of The
Temps. His Temptation hits included, "Cloud Nine," "Papa Was A
Rolling Stone," "Runaway Child," "I Can't Get Next To You," and
"Psychedelic Shack."
"Our
challenge," says Otis Williams, "is to live in the present while
respecting the past. Our past is filled with riches that only a fool
would discard. However, at the same time we thrive on competition.
No matter the change in personnel, The Temptations remain true to
The Temptations Tradition. They survived the whims of fashion, disco
or techno, and stuck to their guns".
"Great singing, " says Otis, "Will always prevail. " And
so, The Temptations go on & &.. and on.... and on.....
